Rafting, an exciting sport that everyone can try and that doesn’t require any special courses or skills; you can immediately hit the rapids, with of course all the necessary safety procedures and equipment.
Rafting is a great whitewater sport that uses inflatable rafts to navigate down a river. There are usually about 6 people in a single raft (min. 4 max. 8) plus a guide. Before starting off on your adventure, the guide will give a lesson including all the technical details and any info you will need to know before heading down the river. Once you get on a raft, everyone will become an active part of the crew as you begin to paddle, precisely following all of the instructions given by the guide.
For a thrilling rafting descent you will need to take the following clothing with you: a bathing suit or shorts, gym shoes, (or neoprene sub/surf socks), a fitted long sleeve shirt or T-shirt, a towel or bathrobe for a shower after you’ve finished rafting.
Val di Sole, the best destination in Europe for whitewater sports. And that’s not just our opinion, but National Geographic’s ranking of the top 10 rivers in the world for Whitewater Rafting! The Noce River ranked ninth and it is the only river in Europe to be included. The Noce River rushes down towards the bottom of the valley and it is definitely one of the most interesting and striking natural rivers at an international level for whitewater sports. It can truly be called an “outdoor gym" where in 1993 the Canoeing and Kayaking World Championships were held and where international competitions are still held every year. As you descend along the Noce River, which is navigable for about 30 km, you can admire a wide variety of landscapes. Along the navigable section of the river, there are challenging areas that are great for experts and easier areas that are perfect for all those who want to try whitewater sports for the very first time.
To try this exciting sport and any other river sports in complete safety you can go to the RAFTING CENTER VAL DI SOLE located in the town of Dimaro. The very first Canoeing and Rafting Centre to open in Trentino. The Center opened in 1982 and it is located near the Dolomiti Camping Village in Dimaro, a 4 star campsite, one of the best in Europe.
