Nature: Adamello Brenta Nature Park
The abundance of natural beauty in Val di Sole is due to the fact that it is located between the Stelvio National Park, the largest in Italy, and the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, within the lovely Dolomite mountains, giving all those that love nature the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in pristine, pure ecosystems.

The Adamello Brenta Nature Park is the largest protected area in Trentino. It is located in the western part of the Trentino region and it covers an area of 620,517 km² including the Adamello and Brenta mountain groups, separated by Val Rendena and including Val di Non, Val di Sole and Valli Giudicarie. There are more than 80 lakes within this area and the Adamello Glacier, one of the largest in Europe. The wildlife within the Park includes bears, chamois, roe deer, deer, marmots, squirrels, foxes, eagles, wood grouse and black grouse and many other typical mountain animals.
In 1995 a project was created to reintroduce the Alpine ibex in the Adamello Presanella massif. Now, there are approximately 50 specimens of this rare ungulate which had disappeared for several decades. The brown bear is the symbol of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, where the last brown bears in the Alps still live, representing this natural, wild and pure environment. To save these bears from extinction, a project has been created that should enable the brown bear to repopulate the area thanks to several bears that were captured in Slovenia and then brought here.
The Adamello Brenta Nature Park organizes numerous guided excursions during the summer season to give participants the chance to increase their knowledge of the cultural and natural aspects of this protected area. These guided outings are organized in collaboration with the local alpine guides, experts that will provide important information concerning the land and its history. There are also full-day outings organized during the week that will give visitors the chance to discover the most beautiful valleys in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.
